Cute, 1.55" Asaphus Kowalewskii Trilobite With Stalk Eyes
This is a cute, 1.55" long, prone specimen of the long, stalk-eyed trilobite Asaphus kowalewskii. It is Middle Ordovician in age and was collected at the Vilpovitsy quarry in the St. Petersburg region of Russia. The stalk eyes likely allowed to survey it's surroundings while remaining buried in the mud.
It appears the stalk eyes are probably composites from another specimen, but other than that there is no restoration.
