2.2" Asaphus Lepidurus Trilobite With Molting Carapace - Russia
This is a nice, 2.2" long Asaphus lepidurus trilobite fossil. It was collected from the Putilovo quarry in the St. Petersburg region of Russia. It's very 3D and the caramel colored shell contrasts nicely with the light colored limestone. A unique aspect of this piece, is that it's molting carapace is preserved right next to it. It died in the process of molting.
