1.05" Wide, Thaleops Trilobite - Wisconsin

This is a rarely seen trilobite from the Platteville Formation of Wisconsin. It is a nice Thaleops ovata measuring 1.05" wide. Excellent preservation and it displays nicely on the slab of limestone full of brachiopod fossils. The very tip of the right genal spine has been restored.

The Platteville Formation is rarely collected and complete trilobites are very tough to find. Our digging partner who has a leased quarry on this formation has only found a handful of nice trilobites in the past two years for the locality.
