TURTLES (JURASSIC WORLD)

Most turtle fossils we carry are of the genus Stylemys. Stylemys is a genus of land tortoise that is among the first discovered in the United States. First described by paleontologist Joseph Leidy in 1851, it remains a sought-after fossil in the American Midwest and the Badlands of the Dakotas.

Other turtles include fossils from the extant genera Gopherus and Testudo, as well as the extinct genus Toxochelys and various gorgeous specimens from lagerstätte around the world.
